Educational / Therapeutic Consultants
Educational / Therapeutic Consultants play a vital role in the adventure wilderness industry as they work closely with families in crisis to assess their at-risk adolescents and refer them to appropriate adventure outdoor wilderness programs and residential / therapeutic boarding schools. Educational consultants work for the family, not for any specific program. Therefore, they focus on meeting the needs of the family and their child.
In order to be able to coordinate the placement of at-risk students many Consultants visit the wilderness programs and spend time with the front line staff and wilderness therapists in the outdoors. Through this the Consultants are able to gain valuable insights about each individual therapeutic wilderness program, how they differ and what they specifically have to offer, so that they can use this first-hand experience and wisdom when matching an at-risk student to an adventure wilderness program that will meet their clinical, emotional and family, needs.
Most Educational consultants specialize in multiple areas and possess extensive knowledge of various educational and wilderness treatment options.
When you need help and would like to initiate contact with an Educational Consultant, our Admissions Director can help you find one to match your needs.
