Aspiro is more than a juvenile boot camp for teens. We believe it is not enough to do traditional therapy alone.
Aspiro’s Therapeutic expeditions combine research and theories from:
- Solution Focused Therapy
- Positive Psychology
- Self Efficacy Theory
- Self Determination Theory
- Sequencing in Adventure Therapy
- Character Development Theory
- Conscience Use of Metaphor
- Anatomy of Peace
Our expeditions are designed to inspire self discovery and character development through challenge and adventure.
Students are impelled to achieve more than they ever thought possible, to show compassion for others, and to actively engage in creating a better world.
On a typical week, students will come into base camp for about 24 – 72 hours before leaving for the next expedition. Each time they leave, they experience a different expedition. For Example:
- 50 mile (week long) mountain backpacking trip
- Return to Base Camp
- 50 mile float trip
- Return to Base Camp
- 30 mile Slot Canyon trip
- Return to Base Camp

With an emphasis on safety, Aspiro Guides teach all skills necessary for youth to master these activities for the rest of their lives. Finding new hobbies and interest to replace the old behaviors is part of the healing process.
Does Aspiro sound like a boot camp for teenagers?
