The Aspiro Program - (801) 349-2740

Aspiro operates their teen wilderness programs year-round and application for admission may take place at any time. Acceptance is based on a review of the student's current and past history of behavior, consultation with parents and professionals, and psycho-educational testing when appropriate.

Appropriate candidates are adolescent males and females, ages 13-17, and young adults, ages 18 to 30 years of age, with a history of soft to moderate emotional and behavioral challenges, low self-esteem, academic underachievement, substance abuse and family conflict.

"Using the restorative powers of the outdoors,
your child can securely confront their weaknesses,
discover and build their strengths,
and experience daily private victories!"

Our Program

Aspiro is a 7 to 12 week program with an average length of stay of 54 days. It begins with 2 to 5 days at a Transition Camp being taught essential skills before moving to the expedition phase of the program.

When a new student is admitted into Aspiro, they are treated with respect similar to a transfer from one high school to another.

Aspiro does not operate on level systems and makes no attempt to "break down" students.

Aspiro adventure therapy is designed to foster the beginnings of significant, positive change in a short period of time.

The therapeutically-rich nature of our program helps to reduce your child's resistance to treatment and enables them to clearly understand the need for change. Further, it gives them the skills and motivation necessary to make positive choices which lead to future success. Aspiro students participate in an expedition-style adventure where nature has a way of healing.

With direction from a dedicated and caring staff, the students are led along a path where hope and healing begin.

While continued therapy remains the primary focus of Aspiro, students are also taught many life lesson, character development, and adventure-based activities designed to enhance their quality of life for years to come.|

"Today was just awesome! it was better than any high I've ever been on. I feel great!" - K.S. Student

Activities may include whitewater river trips in rafts or canoes, skiing, snowboarding, top-rope rock climbing, caving, mountain-biking, horseback riding, primitive living skills, hiking/backpacking, arts and crafts, etc. Each activity is designed to help students climb to a higher level of self-efficacy, and help them draw the metaphors to real life. The goal is to give them tools for success with their family and friends.
